SUMMER CAMP SAFETY

We are pleased to announce to offer half-day Summer Camps beginning June 22. Here’s how we’re keeping everyone safe.

Dear Parents and Guardians:

Please review our procedures for keeping children safe during the Aerospace Museum of California Summer Day Camps.

TRAINED STAFF

Our staff and camp counselors are trained to encourage and maintain strict social distancing guidelines and cleanliness based on state and county regulations to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

SMALL GROUPS

Camp groups will be limited to 10-12 students. Each group will stay together as a group and with the same camp counselor for the duration of the week. Groups will have a designated meeting place in our huge 4.5 acre Air Park, and will not intermingle with other camp groups. Supplies will be provided to each student in their own container for the entire week and will not be shared. Social distancing will be practiced within each group.

TEMPERATURE CHECKS

Daily temperature checks will be conducted by our staff upon arrival of each student. Additionally, there will be periodic temperature checks throughout the week.

FACE MASKS/FACE SHIELDS

Masks and shields will be worn by camp counselors. We will require students to wear masks. There will be several opportunities for students to remove masks and take a breather when not involved in activities.

HAND WASHING/HAND SANITIZER

Campers and staff will have easy access to handwashing stations and hand sanitizer.  Students and counselors will be required to wash hands or sanitize hourly.

CAMPS WILL BE CONDUCTED OUTDOORS

Campers will spend the majority of the morning outdoors with bathroom and handwashing breaks as exceptions. In case of severely hot weather, campers will take breaks inside of our 34,000 square foot exhibit hall with strict social distancing protocols in place and no intermingling with other camp groups.

We hope that these guidelines will help put you at ease when deciding to send your child to a camp at the Aerospace Museum of California. If you have any further questions, you can call us at 916-643-3192 or email info@aerospaceca.org.
